Children's Literature
I found a site where you can learn about great, new children's literature. I know there are so many sources out there, at times it can be overwhelming. Are there any great sources you know of? Maybe we can save one another some time by cutting to the chase. http://planetesme.blogspot.com/

Reading Journal
Keeping a reading journal might be a great way to self motivate students. Not only will parents and teachers be able keep track of progress, but being able to see their own progress would be a great internal motivator for our young ones. What do you think? Has anyone ever had their kids or students keep a reading journal? How did they work for you?http://www.ehow.com/how_5227099_keep-reading-journal.html

I found a site that may help you overcome your writer's block. Let me know what you think. http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/composition/brainstorm_block.htm
Students Writing Students
I found this new website where you can connect your students with other students across the world! This could be a way, not only to keep your students interest levels up, but also a way for them to learn about different ways of life. They might just need a little inspiration from across the globe! http://www.studentsoftheworld.info/

First Blog
Welcome to my blog. I have created this space to explore in the Language Arts world. I want to focus on figurative language. Anyone have any fun or exciting ideas of introducing a figurative language unit?
